The United States buys two units of the Israeli Iron Dome system for deployment at the Al Tanf base in Syria
The Israeli Nziv website quoted US sources as saying that Washington had decided to buy two unites of the Israeli Iron Dome System to be deployed in the location where its forces are stationed in Syria.
The website quoted Syrian opposition sources as saying that the US military would deploy one of the two unites in the area of Al Tanf airport south-east of Syria.
This comes in light of the US president Donald Trump talk about an imminent American withdrawal from Syria.
The sources said that the US withdrawal is likely to begin in April.
The US Senate voted a few days ago to oppose the withdrawal, which would leave a vacuum that the Russians and the Syrian government could fill in accordance with the resolution.
