The Turkish president reveals his assets and how much he owe

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan revealed, in an official declaration, his property after 21 years as the first man of Türkiye, with four states, and he enters the fifth term, whose elections he won earlier this week.

The Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan approved a list of his money and properties that each elected president and his wife make in the Official Gazette, in a compulsory declaration.

The declaration revealed a debt owed by the Turkish President to his brother Mustafa, which amounted to 5,390,000 Turkish liras ($259,000).

Erdoğan revealed that he own one apartment that he shares equally with his wife since 2019, located in Üsküdar neighborhood, one of the oldest neighborhoods of Istanbul, the economic capital of the country.

The apartment according to what revealed at the declaration estimated value of 7.7 million Turkish liras ($370,000).

In addition, Erdoğan owns a 0.2-hectare plot of land in Rize Province on the Black Sea since 1988, which inherited from his ancestors.

Erdoğan and his wife have four bank accounts in three banks, with a total balance of and 1,883,000 Turkish lira ($89,834).

Erdoğan achieved victory in the second round of the Turkish presidential elections with more than 52% of the vote, beating his rival, head of the Republican People’s Party, Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu who received 48%.
