Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan confirmed that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and members of his government are trying to spread war in the region by all means available to them.

This came in a speech during his meeting with representatives of some think tanks operating in the United States of America, on the sidelines of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York State, USA, on Sunday evening.

Erdogan explained that his country is closely following the massacres carried out by Israel in the Palestinian Gaza Strip since October 7.

He added that two-thirds of the more than 41,000 civilians who lost their lives in Israeli attacks were women and children.

He continued, “There is a humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza… 1.9 million people have been displaced… 70% of the water resources and 75% of the bakeries in Gaza Strip have been destroyed, and 95% of the health centers have been partially or completely damaged”.

Erdogan added, “200,000 homes were partially destroyed, 80,000 homes became uninhabitable, access to clean water sources is almost impossible, and diseases such as hepatitis and polio have reached alarming levels”.

He stressed that ensuring a permanent ceasefire and the unhindered flow of humanitarian aid are among Türkiye’s priorities.

Erdogan stressed the need for the international community to move to prevent Netanyahu’s efforts to spread war throughout the region, and to intensify pressure on Israel to prevent it from committing more massacres.

The Turkish President addressed the fight against terrorism, saying, “Our struggle against terrorist organizations is for the security of Türkiye and the region as well”.

He added, “We support the territorial integrity of our neighbors, Syria and Iraq, and we are determined to fight all kinds of threats targeting our country from the territories of these two countries”.
