The Union of Grain and Wheat Exporters in Russia announced a list of the top 5 countries that purchase and demand Russian grain around the world in the first quarter of the agricultural year 2023-2024, which extends from July to September.

According to the top 5 list, Egypt ranked first in purchasing grains during this period, as it imported 2.031 million tons of grains, representing an increase of 9.1% compared to the previous year, which amounted to 1.862 million tons.
Türkiye came in second place with a quantity of 1.864 million tons, which is a 10.3% lower number compared to the previous year, which amounted to 2.057 million tons.
Iran came in third place, and it was in the lead a year ago with a quantity that reached 2.412 million tons.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia ranked fourth, and Libya came in fifth place.

According to statistics, Russia exported a total of 22.7 million tons of wheat in the first half of the 2022-2023 agricultural year, with the total export volume for the entire season is expected to reach 44.3 million tons.
