The Times: Israel postpones its strike on Iran after leaking US intelligence
The Times revealed on Thursday, quoting an intelligence source familiar with the Israeli deliberations, that Tel Aviv was forced to postpone its potential attack on Iran after details of the military plans were leaked from the American side.
The source explained that Israel fears Iran’s ability to anticipate certain attack patterns, despite the fact that potential targets were not specified in the leak.
He added, “The leak of the American documents caused the attack to be delayed due to the need to change certain strategies and components”.
The documents, classified as “top secret,” first appeared on the Telegram last Friday, and quickly spread across social media among Iranians, while the FBI announced that it had opened an investigation into the leak of these documents.
The development comes after a direct Iranian attack on Israel on October 1, in which Tehran fired 200 ballistic missiles, killing a Palestinian in the West Bank and damaging residential areas and military bases.
During his visit to the Hatzerim air base, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant said, “Anyone who dreamed a year ago of defeating us and attacking us paid a heavy price and no longer had that dream”.
