On Saturday, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez denounced the Israeli attack that led to the death of 7 employees of the “World Central Kitchen” organization in the Gaza Strip.

During a mass gathering in the northern city of Vitoria, Sanchez said, “Spain’s position on the Israeli-Palestinian issue is very clear and enjoys the respect and appreciation of many countries”.

He described the Israeli attacks in Palestine as a “massacre”.

He added, “Neither workers in civil society organizations deserve to be killed, nor does any country deserve to be slaughtered”.

Sanchez pointed out that “recognition of the State of Palestine with all its rights in the international community and the two-state solution aren’t only Spain’s initiative, but the United Nations has the same opinion”.

He reiterated that the Spanish government will recognize the Palestinian state within a short time.

On Monday, the Israeli army targeted the “International Kitchen” convoy in the city of Deir al Balah, in the central Gaza Strip, resulting in the death of 7 foreigners holding the nationalities of Australia, Poland, Britain, the United States, and Canada, in addition to Palestine.

The attack sparked increasing international criticism, including from countries that are allies of Israel, such as Britain.

Spain went further and said that the European Union should review its relations with Israel if it’s proven to have violated human rights in its ongoing war on the Gaza Strip for 6 months.
