The Shellshock Series – Episode VII: The mastermind of all evils – Part two

0

The period in which Kissinger’s reputation and position was concentrated was during the reign of Republican President Richard Nixon, although Henry Kissinger didn’t liked him, on the contrary, he harbored a strong hatred towards him.

He wasn’t in favor of his candidacy for the Republican Party, and described him, as Richard Nixon’s arrival for the presidency would be dangerous, and unsuitable for this position, since he ran against President Kennedy.

However, as soon as Nixon reached the White House in 1968, Henry Kissinger followed the realist approach, and joined the Nixon presidential team, as National Security Adviser, and then Secretary of State, where during his tenure of State, he remained as National Security Adviser.

The western relationship that brought these two men together was striking, as they both know the capabilities and capabilities of the other party, and they hate each other, implicitly, but they must work together, to serve their interests.

Both Nixon and Kissinger saw in the other potentials that serve his interests, so the realistic approach to the period of work of these two men was very striking, with all the major international events that occurred during that period from 1969 to the beginning of 1974.

During his work as the head of American diplomacy, his real capabilities and orientations emerged.

He preferred indirect negotiation methods, and he used what we know as the back door negotiation style, which characterized Washington’s foreign policy during the seventies.

He had a prominent role in the US-Vietnam negotiations to end the war, and was working on the coexistence of Washington and the West with the presence of communist superpowers such as the Soviet Union and China.

The directions of US President Richard Nixon were in favor of dialogue with the communist camp, with his acceptance of coexistence with these communist regimes, and even cooperation with both Moscow and Beijing.

Therefore, Henry Kissinger was secretly negotiating with both Moscow and Beijing, often without the knowledge of the US administration itself.

Kissinger’s approach to developing special relationships was clear in the very special nature of his relationship, which amounted to private and family friendship, with the Soviet ambassador to Washington in the early 1970s, Anatoly Dobrynin.

This special friendship was reflected in the arrival of US President Richard Nixon to conclude a large number of agreements and cooperation with the Soviet Union, foremost of which is the Salt Agreement to limit the spread and expansion of nuclear weapons, between the United States and the Soviet Union.

As with Moscow, it was the case with Beijing. Kissinger traveled secretly to China in 1971, during which he met the Chinese Prime Minister, Zhou Enlai, and that visit was the cornerstone of Sino-American communication.

Through these realist policies, often far from adherence to general principles and morals, Washington’s policies in the presence of Kissinger supported all anti-communist regimes in all countries of the world, even if those regimes were criminal and repressive, and great if those regimes were loyal to the United States.

The era of those American administrations, and Kissinger in them, is the era in which the United States was called the imperialist state, and its methods were clearly visible.

The justifications for fighting communism were nothing but a pretext that Washington put in place to justify its actions aimed at building its empire and imposing its hegemony on the world.

And that ugly face was shown, by supporting repressive dictatorships, which overthrew civilian democratic governments in several countries in Central and Latin America, as we mentioned in the series.

After US President Richard Nixon resigned after the Watergate scandal in 1974, Kissinger remained in office during the tenure of Nixon’s deputy, Gerard Ford.

In light of all these problems, in Washington with the Watergate scandal, and the resignation of Nixon, Kissinger was leading American diplomacy, working alone on the issue of the Arab-Israeli conflict, after the October 1973 war, and conducting tours and meetings in Israel, Egypt and Syria.

One of the most interesting stories is Kissinger’s deliberate delay in informing his boss about the outbreak of the war between the Arabs and Israel in October 1973, to allow Israel to reform its field position and regain control, thinking that it was at the time of the Six-Day War of 67.

But as soon as the capabilities of the Israeli steadfastness deteriorated in the face of the Egyptian and Syrian forces, he was forced to rush to intervene, and himself managed the bridge of support and air supply, which the United States carried out to support Israel militarily.

Where the United States supplied Israel and within a few days a large amount of advanced military equipment, the value of which amounted to more than 2 billion dollars.

In the same month, October 1973, he jointly awarded the Nobel Peace Prize with his Vietnamese counterpart Le Duc Tho, in recognition of their efforts to bring peace to Southeast Asia and end the war in Vietnam.

(Vietnamese Foreign Minister Le Duc Tho thanked the Nobel Prize Committee and refused to accept the award and said we hadn’t yet completed the peace process.)

As for Kissinger, he accepted the award, and of course his receipt of the award sparked a wave of criticism, about how the personalities nominated for the Nobel Prizes are being nominated and evaluated, a controversial figure such as Henry Kissinger, and his roles in provoking crises and unrest in many countries of the world besides his support for many repressive regimes that practiced various forms of oppression and oppression against their people.

The funny thing is, that after the collapse of peace talks, and the North Vietnamese forces could invade the capital of South Saigon, foreshadowing the end of the Vietnam War, and that the United States defeated in this war that lasted for over 15 years, and that war remained a black point in the history of American military and policy, presented Kissinger waived and reinstated the award, but the Nobel Prize Committee refused.

Upon the arrival of Jimmy Carter (Democrat) to the White House, Henry Kissinger continued to provide his consulting services to many American politicians and military personnel, even those who worked within the administration of President Carter, and he also established a consulting firm called Kissinger & Co. Consulting.

His company provided many services, for example, to the Bush family, the Clinton family and many American political and military figures, leaders and politicians in both the Republican and Democratic parties.

We cannot forget that he was one of the most prominent supporters of the US invasion of Iraq in 2003.

This man still appears from time to time as he reaches the age of 100, with many analysts and experts differing as to what is the appropriate description for this man.

Is he a national hero who served the United States? …. Or is he a war criminal in uniform and tie, whose ideas and policies, with their lack of ethics and integrity, with many twisted methods and methods, contributed to causing many tragedies in many countries.

Despite the emergence of some voices calling for his defense as a war criminal, we say, on the other hand, that the history of American politics before and after Kissinger didn’t differ much from what he did.

It seems that the general principle in Uncle Sam’s policies is always moving in a consistent direction with the ideas and methods he followed. Henry Kissinger, and may be the reason for the success of many of them, simply because they corresponded and corresponded to the real general orientation of the United States.

In the end, it remains for us to say, that in his most famous book (Diplomacy), he rightly considers the Talmud of US politics, in which he mentioned that shocking sentence that reveals to anyone who wants the truth in the positions of the United States, when he wrote and says Kissinger in his book, “The policies of the United States are not built on resolve international conflicts and crises, but rather to grasp their threads and move it according to what serves the US interests”.

Therefore, the United States hasn’t and won’t hesitate to adhere to the principles of human rights, democracy and freedom, and even to trample on man himself, in the service of achieving its ambitions and goals over the decades.

Conclusion of the Series:

Also, in order not to hide their roles, many Americans with a clear conscience contributed to the detection of these crimes, or At least of those whose conscience is clear, and decide to speak and reveal the truth, that a thousand condor operations have been carried out in every part and country of our world.
