The Russian Central Bank eases restrictions on transactions with banks of unfriendly countries
The Russian Central Bank decided to ease restrictions on transactions with banks of countries included in the list of unfriendly countries in Russia, provided that their financial transfers are made in Russian rubles.
On Thursday, the Russian Central Bank allowed banks from the Russian list of “unfriendly countries” to transfer money in Russian rubles from accounts opened in Russian credit institutions.
The Central Bank indicated that this “will support transactions in the Russian ruble in foreign trade operations”.
“In conditions of pressure from sanctions, these channels will help in conducting financial transfers and increase the stability of the international infrastructure of accounts”.
