The Polish army adopts resolution paving the way for war with Russia
The Polish military has launched a new program known as “leave with the army” to train citizens in military skills on a voluntary basis, as part of preparation for any potential conflict with Russia.
The Polish military seems to be considering the possibility of war with Russia by implementing this program, which aims to boost the number of soldiers in its ranks.
The program provides paid military training to citizens between the ages of 18 and 35.
The volunteers will participate in intensive training for 28 days during the summer without taking a vacation, and will finish the training by taking the military oath as soldiers in the national army.
After the end of the program, they can choose between joining the reserve forces or continuing to serve within the regional defense forces.
The main goal of the program is to equip Polish citizens for any potential conflict with Russia.
The Polish government is seeking to expand the size of its army, which currently stands at 198,000 troops, to counter expected Russian threats, as the repeated statements of Polish officials indicated the hostile nature on the conflict in Ukraine.
For example, former Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk stated that Europe is living in the “pre-war era” and that the concept of “war” is no longer just an abstract idea in this region of the world.
For his part, the former Polish Foreign Minister, Radoslaw Sikorsky, called for the training of Ukrainian forces on Polish soil, and claimed that the United States is ready to attack the Russian army if it uses nuclear weapons against Ukraine.
Talk of a possible direct armed conflict between NATO and Russia is becoming increasingly frequent in the West.
On the other hand, commenting on the recent Polish officials statements, the Kremlin stressed that Russia poses no threat to anyone, but won’t condone any actions that may threaten its interests.
