The Pentagon reveals the identities of the 3 soldiers killed in the drone attack at the US base in Jordan
The US Department of Defense revealed the identities of the three reserve soldiers who lost their lives on Sunday in an attack on a base in Jordan near the Syrian border, known as “Tower 22”.
The dead soldiers were all from the state of Georgia.
Sergeant William Jerome Rivers (46), Private Kennedy Ladon Sanders (24) and Private Breonna Alexandria Moffett (23).
The three soldiers were affiliated with the 718th Engineer Company, the 926th Engineer Battalion, and the 926th Engineer Brigade in Fort Moore, Georgia.
These units were composed of soldiers trained to quickly deploy to build roads, logistical areas, and protective barriers for US forces.
According to Kennedy Sanders’ father, his daughter was a happy person who was always smiling.
She loved life, was a wonderful sister and daughter, and was loved by everyone.
She joined the army in 2019.
As for Moffitt, of the Savannah area, she joined the Army Reserve five years ago, and during her service she received the National Defense Service Medal.
As for Rivers, of the Carrollton area, he joined the Army as a reservist in 2011 and completed a training course in Iraq in 2018, during which he won awards such as the Military Achievement Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and others.
The United States confirmed that the attack on Tower 22 in Jordan resulted from an attack by the Iranian-backed Iraqi Hezbollah Brigades, indicated that Iran is funding groups that target US forces.
This attack indicates escalating tensions in the region, raising fears of an expansion of the scope of the conflict that has existed since the beginning of the Gaza war last October, which puts President Biden in a sensitive position facing challenges to respond, especially with the continuing clashes in many regions from Iraq to Syria and Lebanon.
