The opening of the Rafah crossing within days in both directions and an invisible Israeli observation point for the entry and exit of passengers
The Israeli channel 12 reported that the security establishment is preparing to receive directives from the political level to reopen the Rafah border crossing in both directions in the coming days, within the framework of new security arrangements.
The Israeli channel reported that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will hold a security meeting on Sunday, to present the details of the understandings and concessions he agreed to during his meeting with US President Donald Trump, with the reopening of the Rafah crossing at the top of the meeting’s priorities.
According to the channel, Israel plans to establish an IDF checkpoint on the Palestinian side of the Rafah crossing, under the pretext of monitoring movement in and out of the Gaza Strip, without clarifying whether it will be managed by field forces or through technological means.
For its part, the Israeli Broadcasting Corporation said that the Israeli presence will be invisible, but the security presence will be present to implement any security measures on the ground, as in the previous crossing’s agreement between Israel and the Palestinian Authority.
