The Kremlin responds to German defense minister statements regarding war with Russia by 2029
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed that the statements of the German Defense Minister about the need to prepare for war with Russia stem from the German deficit in terms of independence and sovereignty in the country.
German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius predicted the date of the next war, noting that his country must prepare for it by 2029, calling for improving the defense capacity of his army and reforming the conscription system.
In remarks to reporters, Peskov recalled what President Vladimir Putin said about the lack of standards of sovereignty and independence by the authorities in Germany after World War II, according to Russian media.
“In the context of this deficit, of course, the German authorities from time to time make statements that are racing with each other, they need them and from Brussels as well to please Washington and to please NATO,” Peskov said.
“That’s why we’re seeing this frantic race from them at different levels to make similar statements, and therefore they’re in the same difficult position”.
Returning to the German defense minister’s remarks, Pistorius linked his deadlines to the results of the Russian special military operation in Ukraine and said, “We don’t have the right to neglect our defense case”.
Pistorius identified 3 main problems faced by the Bundeswehr in “technology, personnel and finance”.
Earlier, Russian Security Council Vice President Dmitry Medvedev called on German Chancellor Olaf Scholz to get down and ask for forgiveness from Ukrainians, calling him a “rotten liver”.
He wrote on his Telegram channel, “Suddenly the rotten liver Scholz entered the conversation and started an outright blizzard… Well as they say in the language we know, shuffle the cards… Scholz said the Russian president must recognize that Ukraine is strong and cannot be subdued,” he was quoted as saying by Russian media.
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz sent a video message to Russian President Vladimir Putin, urging him to admit that “Ukraine won’t kneel”.
In his post, Medvedev said, “It’s shameful… The fool (referring to the German Chancellor) must get down on his knees and ask for forgiveness from the Ukrainians for lying about the inevitable ‘overcoming’ of Russia, and in order to sentence them to extermination”.
