The Israeli security Shin Bet reveals the arrest of an Israeli recruited by Iran to assassinate a prominent Israeli scientist
The Israeli media revealed, Wednesday, a new case of espionage for Iran against Israel, as the Israeli domestic security Shin Bet and the police arrested the Israeli Vladimir Varhovsky (35 years old), a resident of Petah Tikva, who was performing various tasks for the Iranian intelligence services.
According to a report, an Israeli citizen named, Vladimir, that according to the reports, the Shin Bet knew that he was in contact with a (hostile) party, and he carried out tasks for them such as writing on walls, hanging banners, and collecting information about a Zionist party”.
The report continued, “Later, he agreed to carry out a mission to liquidate a Zionist scientist for $100,000, and equipped himself with weapons for this purpose”.
The report concluded, “He will be presented this morning to a hearing regarding the extension of his detention and a serious indictment will be filed against him”.
A few days ago, the Israeli police and the General Security Service (Shabak) announced the thwarting of an Iranian attempt to assassinate Israeli officials by recruiting Israelis.
“The infrastructure of Iranian intelligence services working to recruit Israelis has been uncovered,” the police and Shin Bet said in a joint statement.
