The Israeli El Al plane that emergency landed left Türkiye after authorities refused to refuel
The Israeli airline El Al announced the end of the crisis of its plane, which made an emergency landing in Türkiye, where the authorities refused to provide it with fuel to resume its flight.
The Israeli national aviation company announced on Sunday that one of its planes, which was flying from Warsaw to Tel Aviv, wasn’t allowed to refuel at Antalya airport, after making an emergency landing in Türkiye to evacuate a passenger for medical reasons.
“Turkish workers at Antalya airport refused to refuel the flight before it took off for Israel, even though the case was medical,” El Al company statement said.
“A passenger was evacuated for treatment, and the plane then took off for Rhodes in Greece, where it will refuel before heading to Israel,” the statement said.
Turkish diplomatic sources confirmed that the plane was allowed to make an emergency landing after one of its passengers was ill.
A Turkish diplomatic source said, “The plane was scheduled to be refueled for humanitarian considerations, but as the completion of the procedures approached, the pilot of the plane decided to leave of his own free will”.
According to the Times of Israel newspaper, the plane remained on the tarmac of Antalya for several hours before taking off for the Greek Rhodes island.
