The Israeli army on Monday renewed its violation of Syria’s sovereignty by infiltrating a military force and vehicles into the countryside of Quneitra.

The official Syrian News Agency (SANA) said: “The Israeli occupation forces infiltrated Monday morning towards the western side of the village of Saida al Hanout in the southern countryside of Quneitra”.

It explained that an Israeli military force consisting of 3 cars was stationed in the village, in addition to a drone that flew over Sidon al Hanout to monitor the area.

“This move comes in conjunction with the transfer of two tanks by the occupation forces from the Burj point in Quneitra to the Hamidiya point in the northern countryside of Quneitra,” SANA said.

It pointed out that “the occupation forces penetrated on Sunday in the northern and southern countryside of Quneitra, and set up two checkpoints to search passers-by”.

Recently, Israel’s violations in Quneitra have escalated, and Syrians complain about incursions into their only source of livelihood.

During the incursions, Israel destroyed thousands of square meters of forest, and arrested Syrians and set up military checkpoints to search passersby.

In recent months, Israeli-Syrian meetings have been held in an effort to reach security arrangements that would ensure Israel’s withdrawal from the Syrian buffer zone, which it occupied in December 2024.

But in late November, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said that Israel wasn’t on the path to peace with Syria.

Although the Syrian Government posed no threat to Israel, Israel continues to carry out ground incursions and airstrikes that have killed civilians and destroyed Syrian army positions, military vehicles, weapons and ammunition.
