The Israeli army announced Wednesday morning that 7 of its soldiers were killed in a single incident in the southern Gaza Strip.

The Israeli army released the names of six of the seven dead soldiers, all aged 19 to 21, who belonged to the 605th Combat Engineering Battalion, which is primarily responsible for destroying tunnels and other military infrastructure, removing mines, and clearing routes for infantry and armored vehicles during combat.

The army didn’t release the name of the seventh dead soldier.

No details have been revealed about the incident in which the seven soldiers were killed.

The army announced that another soldier from the same unit was injured on Tuesday in a separate incident in the Gaza Strip.

More than 430 Israeli soldiers have been killed since the start of the war in the Gaza Strip.

The Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, announced Tuesday evening that a number of Israeli soldiers were killed and wounded in a complex ambush carried out by its fighters targeting an Israeli force holed up inside a house in Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip.

Hamas’ Al Qassam Brigades said in a post on Telegram, “The Qassam fighters were able to carry out a complex ambush targeting a Zionist force that had taken refuge inside a house with a (Yassin 105) missile and an (RBG) missile in the old licensing area south of Khan Yunis city in the southern Gaza Strip”.

The post stated that its members targeted the house with machine guns, resulting in casualties among the Israeli force.

The Qassam Brigades indicated that it targeted an Israeli Merkava tank with a Shawaaz explosive device and a Yassin 105 shell in the same area.

The Qassam Brigades didn’t specify when the operation would be carried out, while there was no immediate comment from the Israeli army on the incident.
