The Iranian army commander: We’re preparing for another round of war with Israel
The Commander-in-Chief of the Islamic Republic of Iran Army, Major General Amir Hatami, said that “the Israeli occupation faced the culmination of Western military and technological support, including from NATO, during the recent 12-day war, but it ended in a major failure”.
This came during an inspection tour conducted by Major General Hatami, which included Iranian army units in the cities of Isfahan, Tabriz, and Hamadan.
Hatami added, “All components of the national force, including the ground forces, air forces, and air defense, along with the Revolutionary Guards, the Popular Mobilization Forces (Basij), and the citizens, participated in the battle and stood united, enabling Iran to successfully and with dignity overcome this challenge,” he said.
The Iranian military commander indicated that one of the goals of the attack was to destroy Iran’s nuclear program, but that it failed to achieve this goal.
He explained that the nuclear program is based on domestic national capabilities that cannot be eliminated by force.
Regarding air defense capabilities, Hatami explained that the enemy attempted to undermine them as part of a comprehensive plan, but they collapsed in the face of the resilience of Iranian defense units, which have proven their ability to confront threats.
He also emphasized that the Iranian people demonstrated unprecedented solidarity during the confrontation, which he considered a decisive factor in fortifying the internal front and confronting what he described as attempts to dismantle national unity.
Hatami emphasized that the war, despite its short duration, revealed profound strategic lessons, the most important of which is that deterrence requires constant preparedness and increased readiness.
He noted that the Israeli occupation demonstrated during the war its willingness to commit all types of crimes, which requires transforming threats into opportunities to build strength.
Major General Hatami considered that the victory achieved isn’t merely a tactical gain on the ground, but rather a strategic victory”.
He explained, “the Iranian armed forces succeeded in striking vital targets of the occupation and demonstrated a balance in defensive and offensive capabilities, despite attempts at media blackout”.
Concluding his remarks, Hatami emphasized the need to document the lessons learned from this war, considering that “the heroism of Iranian pilots and fighters constitutes a national asset that must be invested in strengthening preparations for any potential future confrontations”.
