The German Chancellor tested positive for Covid-19
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz revealed on Monday that he has tested positive for Covid-19 and will reduce his personal contacts.
“This is clearly not a happy surprise for me… My current tests for Covid-19 have confirmed my infection with the virus,” Scholz said in a post on the X.
Scholz added, “I only have minor symptoms, I practice moderate activity, and I only work from my office at the moment”.
His spokesman, Stephen Hebstreit, said that Chancellor Scholz is in his office and participating in government activity via video.
Hebstreit stated that the Chancellor won’t be attending public engagements Monday and Tuesday.
Hebstreit noted that the visit by Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico that was scheduled for Tuesday has been cancelled.
