The German ambassador in Beijing was summoned to the Chinese Foreign Ministry after German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock’s statements in which she described President Xi Jinping as a “Tyrant Dictator,” Berlin announced Monday.
A spokesman for the German Foreign Ministry explained that this summons occurred on Sunday.
China described this comment, made by Baerbock in an interview with Fox News on September 14 during a visit to the United States, as a political provocation.
