French Prime Minister Edouard Philippe will present on Tuesday the national strategy to break out of the stone that was imposed to counter the emerging Coronavirus, his office told AFP.

This was followed by a discussion and voting session in the National Assembly.

On Sunday, France’s regulator on privacy agreed on terms for an online application to track people who had contact with Covid-19 infected people, due to be revealed on Tuesday.

Seventeen priorities were identified to gradually bring the country out of closure from May 11, which includes the reopening of schools, the resumption of businesses, the return of public transport to normal, the provision of masks and sterilizers, support for the elderly and the setting of a policy to examine them.

But the plans drawn up by government advisors in the field of science were met with suspicion from some quarters, especially the teachers’ unions, which expressed doubts about the possibility of applying measures such as separating students in the classroom.

On Monday, ten ministers will hold consultations with representatives of local authorities to discuss various options.

Since March 17, France has been subject to restrictions on the outbreak of the virus, and the government faces the challenge of striking a delicate balance to revive the economy without causing the epidemic to return.

An IFOP survey of the Journal de Dimanche newspaper showed that only 39 percent of the French believed in the government’s ability to deal effectively with the Coronavirus crisis, seven points less than last week.

The epidemic has claimed 22,856 people in France since the beginning of March, with 242 new deaths recorded in the past 24 hours, according to official figures released Saturday.

Under the government’s plans, travel within France will be permitted from May 11, while travel abroad until the summer is at least not encouraged to reduce the risk of cross-border transmission.

The plan encourages the largest number of people to work from their homes, especially to avoid overcrowding during peak hours in transportation.

Wearing masks will be mandatory for high school students and on public transport, while the rules for social separation must be maintained.

Government counselors, who prefer not to open schools before the start of the new school year in September, have suggested that students take their meals in the classroom “if possible” and that parents measure their pre-school temperature.

The classes will be closed and students will be subjected to strict quarantine if any case at the classes is confirmed.

Government advisers recommended that older persons and people with chronic diseases adhere to their homes in the context of “strict voluntary isolation” to reduce the risk of an outbreak of the virus.

The ban on large rallies will likely continue until mid-July, President Emmanuel Macron said last week.

In this context, France announced that it recorded 242 new deaths from the Corunavirus, on Sunday, taking the total to 22,856.

According to French health data, Coronavirus cases in the country rose to 191,358, while a total of 44,903 recovered.

According to the figures, the number of daily deaths due to Coronavirus in France is the lowest in five weeks, coinciding with the decrease in the number of intensive care patients since 18 days.

France is ranked fourth in the list of Coronavirus deaths globally, after the United States, Italy and Spain.

As of Sunday evening, the number of people infected with the virus exceeded two million and 972 thousand worldwide, of whom more than 205 thousand had died, while more than 873 thousand had recovered, according to the “worldometer” website specializing in monitoring the victims of the virus.
