The Israeli escalation came after a truce agreement was close to being reached that included Israel release of all children and women, and the resistance was also supposed to release non-military foreigners.

The truce agreement included Israel release of all its captive women, children, and youth under the age of 18.

The number of those released by Israel, according to the agreement that was working on, reached 40 women and 100 young men under the age of 18, compared to 100 non-military prisoners who will be released by Hamas.

One of the conditions of the agreement was that Israel would open water supply to the Gaza Strip, open the Rafah crossing, where fuel and heavy machinery would be brought in to remove the rubble, and that Israel be prohibited from flying its warplanes, helicopters, and drones in the airspace of the Gaza Strip during the days of the truce.

Israel was adhering to a truce for only one day, and thus the Rafah crossing was opened for only one day, which Hamas rejects.

Earlier, a source in Hamas said, “The enemy is in a state of back and forth, and was unable to stabilize any of its forces in the areas of the main effort northeast, northwest, and center in Bureij, so it’s escalating the bombing on the axes of advance”.

The al Qassam Brigades announced, in a statement, that they were confronting an Israeli ground incursion into Beit Hanoun and east of Bureij Refugees camp”.

According to the al Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement, their fighters are present in the fighting axes, confronting the Israeli forces that are trying to advance towards the Gaza Strip.
