The Chairman of the NATO Military Committee calls for preparations for an all-out war with Russia
The Chairman of the NATO Military Committee, Admiral Rob Bauer, called on the citizens of the alliance’s member states to prepare to face an all-out war with Russia within the next two decades.
Bauer pointed out that our peaceful existence isn’t certain, and therefore we must prepare for conflict with… Russia and preparing for all scenarios, and praised Sweden for asking its citizens to prepare for war before officially joining the alliance.
Bauer added that the beginning comes from the realization that planning for everything isn’t possible, and that the coming period of time may not be easy, and he called for modernizing the industry to enable faster production of weapons and ammunition.
German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius had also called for preparations for a possible conflict in Europe, while Russian State Duma MP Mikhail Shermet responded by accusing the German authorities of calling for war because of their aggressive policy, noting that friendly relations with Russia represent the key to peace and prosperity in the region.
Moscow has repeatedly stressed that it doesn’t pose a threat to NATO, but it won’t ignore any measures that may affect its interests, and Russian President Vladimir Putin indicated that Russia doesn’t seek a direct military clash with NATO, but is ready to confront any challenge if the need arises.
