The British Minister of Defense reveals details of an operation carried out by British Royal air forces in Syria

British Defense Secretary Ben Wallace announced that the Royal Air Force carried out a drone strike in Syria, targeting ISIS leader, claiming that he was actively involved in chemical and biological weapons.
Wallace said before the House of Commons: “The Middle East continues to harbor terrorism, and this is why the United Kingdom continues to support the government of Iraq as part of the global coalition against ISIS… In late December, a British Royal Air Force drone launched a raid targeting an ISIS leader in the Syrian city of al Bab”.
Wallace explained that the targeted leader had activity related to chemical and biological weapons, noting that the crew assessed the potential risks to civilians before firing two Hellfire missiles.
He confirmed that two missiles were fired and both accurately hit the target, as such measures are necessary to reduce the terrorist threat, protect British citizens and support our international partners.
