Local sources in eastern Syria reveals, on Monday, that 15 Egyptian and Saudi engineers have reached Al Omar oil field, which is under the control of the Kurdish units in Deir Ezor province.

The sources added that a group of engineers and technologists arrived in the region last Friday, on US helicopters.

Sources explained that the group’s mission is to rehabilitate the field, increase its oil production, and train its workers.

The current management of Al Omar oil field, affiliated with the Kurdish units, announced last week that it needed specialized workers to work in the field.

Al Omar oil field is the largest Syrian oil field, and its production before the outbreak of the war in Syria, in 2011, reached 27 thousand barrels per day.
