Tehran announces… the commander of the Quds Force in Lebanon was killed in the bombing of the southern suburb of Beirut
Iranian media reported on Saturday that the deputy commander of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards, Abbas Nilforoushan, was killed in Israeli air strikes on Beirut on Friday.
According to the Iranian Mehr News Agency, Nilforoushan was martyred alongside Nasrallah in the Israeli attack on the southern suburbs of Beirut on Friday evening, without giving further details.
Earlier on Saturday, the Israeli army announced that it had eliminated Nasrallah in an air airstrike on a target in the Haret Hreik area of Beirut’s southern suburbs, the main stronghold of Hezbollah, and Hezbollah later admitted to assassinating its secretary-general.
The Israeli Army Radio reported that war planes from the 69th Squadron dropped 83 bunker-busting bombs, each weighing one ton, in the assassination of Nasrallah.
Since September 23, the Israeli army has launched the most violent and extensive attack on Lebanon since the beginning of the confrontations with Hezbollah about a year ago, resulting in 783 killed, including children and women, and 2,312 wounded, according to Lebanese authorities.
