In an indicator of the end of the war in Syria, Syrian opposition militants and what appears to be jihadi militants from various factions in their last stronghold in Idlib began offering their equipment for sale online via social media.
With a number of accounts and pages on social networks websites, a Twitter account (armorybazaar) shows supply of weapons and equipment of various kinds for sale.
It appears that the opposition fighters have begun to collect money of what they can collect in order to escape.
On entering the account, it display various weapons and equipment, for example, a Soviet-made T-55 tank offered for sale at a price of $ 120,000, as well as anti-aircraft guns, individual weapons, various equipment and ammunitions.
A $ 1,000 pistol, a $ 4,000 sub machine gun, a BMP vehicle for $ 60,000 etc…
Similar to an e-commerce (black market for weapons), opposition and jihadi militants in Idlib are getting rid of their weapons to collect money in order to escape.
The sources of these weapons are vary, some of which were provided as support for the opposition militants from the Gulf States, Turkey, Europe, the United States and Israel, including those seized from government forces in both Syria and Iraq during the years of the war.
It’s shameful that the administrators and the owners of the social media websites, do not hesitate to close accounts of individuals and institutions on various pretexts only to disseminate those who post news and facts about what is happening in reality, while turning a blind eye to accounts belonging to terrorist groups and the jihadi organizations.
It’ll not cost the administrations of those social media platforms much to reach out to such accounts in order to shut it down and track their owners if they are really serious about the war on terrorism, as they make statements from time to time.
Here we put the “armorybazaar” tweeter account link for the management of Twitter if they have the courage to take appropriate action.
