A senior Syrian Kurdish leader said on Saturday that the United States refuses to return the Syrian regime to the east of the Euphrates categorically and will not allow the Syrian regime, Iran and Turkey to intervene in that region.

This came in statements by Suleiman Asso, a member of the presidential body of the Kurdish National Council in Syria and the secretary of the party “Yekiti Kurdistan – Syria”.

Asso pointed out that America is working to establish a “new administration” in the north-east of the country, the Syrian Kurdish National Council and its military forces (Peshmerga Rojava) strong participation.

He added that “keeping America a mini-force in the east of the Euphrates is a message to all that it will not allow any other military force to enter this region”.

“It is understood from the American position now that he will not give up the Kurds and the components of East Euphrates, but therefore America will not remain infinitely in that region”.

“The goal of America to establish a safe area that has not yet crystallized is to reassure its Turkish ally and remove its fears of the control of the Democratic Union Party (PYD) pro-PKK on the east of the Euphrates.

The United States had earlier announced that it would withdraw its troops from Syria, but returned and said it would keep a strong presence there.
