Syrian: Israeli forces evacuate several sites in Quneitra after acts of sabotage and arson
The Israeli forces withdrew on Sunday evening, from the court and governorate buildings in Quneitra, southern Syria, after controlling them for more than 40 days.
The report explained that the Israeli forces, after withdrawing, headed to a new military barracks north of the town of al Hamidiyah, which was established specifically to receive these forces after completing their mission in the area.
The same source indicated that the Israeli forces destroyed furniture, official papers and files belonging to the residents of Quneitra Governorate, in addition to burning computers and destroying cars and motorcycles.
These forces also uprooted trees planted in front of buildings, and tore up important documents and cards belonging to civilians.
On the other hand, the local “Gathering of Free Houran” reported that Israeli forces began to partially withdraw from the Mantara Dam in the northern Quneitra countryside, where tanks and military vehicles were spotted leaving the area.
The Gathering of Free Houran also noted the withdrawal of Israeli forces from the military points they had taken control of following the fall of the Assad regime around the village of al Qahtaniyah in the Quneitra countryside.
The group added that the Israeli forces released citizen Abdo Saadeddin Taha from the village of al Hurriya in the northern Quneitra countryside, after arresting him on Sunday morning.
In a report published by the Washington Post, it was noted that Israel is building settlements in Syria, which raises local concerns about the occupation.
Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz, in a statement from Mount Hermon last week, confirmed that Israel will remain in the security zone indefinitely and won’t allow the entrenchment of any hostile forces in southern Syria.
