Syrian Democratic Forces announce the arrest of Baghdadi’s assistant

The US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces announced on Friday that it had arrested a senior leader of ISIS Abu Bakr Al Baghdadi’s assistant who called himself a “successor”.
Syrian democratic forces contain majority Kurdish fighters that controls about a quarter of Syrian territory east of the Euphrates River.

She said in a statement that she arrested the ISIS high figure, name Osama Oued Saleh, last week.Troops have been trying for

weeks, backed by US air strikes, to take control of the last pocket of a Syrian “fringe” on the banks of the Euphrates near the border with Iraq.

The statement added that the forces of Syria’s democracy that had arrested Oued in a special operation in the village east of Syria, noting that he was a senior security official in the organization in Syria.

More than a year ago, the state of the “caliphate” declared by “Da’ash” in Syria and Iraq collapsed under military attacks.

however the location of Baghdadi is not yet known.

Although the organization has lost most of the territory it controls, it can still launch guerrilla attacks in areas controlled by the Syrian and Iraqi governments.
