Syrian authorities issued absentee sentences to execute number of leaders of armed groups in Syria

The Damascus Criminal Court has issued death sentences to a number of leaders and militants of armed groups and militias.

Among those names are the leader of the Sham Liberation Organization, Mohammed Hussein Al Shara, known as Abu Muhammad Al Julani, the leader of Jaish Al Islam, Essam Buaydani, known as Abu Hammam, and the leader of the Al Rahman Corps, Abdul Nasser Al Shumair.

The decision to sentence more than 40 defendants, most of them from the eastern Ghouta, was also criminalized by shelling some neighborhoods of Damascus, killing civilians and injuring others, including women and children.

The list of charges included in the verdict included the possession of explosive materials in order to spread panic and commit a crime against the state, which led to multiple crimes and constituted a danger to the state and society.

The decision also ordered all convicted persons to pay large amounts of money to each injured person and cover the expenses of the treatment, in addition to stripping them and quarantine them civilians.
