Syria reveals the size of its losses as a result of the US theft of its oil
The Syrian Foreign Ministry revealed the value of direct losses due to the attacks of the US forces on its territory, and said that they amounted to 25.9 billion dollars, of which 19.8 billion dollars were the volume of stolen oil and gas losses.
And the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement on Wednesday: “The latest statistics show that the value of direct losses from the attacks of the American forces and their affiliated militias and terrorist entities on Syrian territory has amounted to 25.9 billion dollars, resulting from the theft of oil, gas and mineral resources with an estimated value of 19.8 billion dollars, and vandalism”.
The theft of facilities amounted to 3.2 billion dollars, in addition to the damages resulting from the bombing of oil and gas facilities by the so-called illegal international coalition, with an estimated value of 2.9 billion dollars.
The Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs pointed out that the indirect losses exceed $86 billion, which represents the value of production losses (crude oil, natural gas, domestic gas, oil derivatives, mineral resources) as a result of lower production than planned rates in normal working conditions, and therefore the total value of the sector’s losses.
The Syrian oil has reached 111.9 billion dollars.
The Syrian Foreign Ministry denounced the continuous plundering of Syria’s wealth and resources by the US forces: “The American occupation forces and the militias associated with it continue their systematic looting of oil, wheat and other basic resources and the national wealth of the Syrian people”.
The Syrian Foreign Ministry again called on the international community to take urgent action and take the necessary measures to stop the looting, stop the violations of international law and the provisions of the Charter committed by the United States and its allies, ensure compensation for them, end the illegal presence of US forces, return the oil and gas fields occupied by those forces to the Syrian state, and immediately and Conditions for illegal coercive measures, in order to improve the humanitarian situation and provide appropriate conditions for the voluntary, safe and dignified return of the displaced and refugees to their homeland.
