Syria participates for the first time in 12 years in the preparatory meetings for the upcoming Arab summit in Saudi Arabia

Syria is participating with a large official and media delegation that arrived in Jeddah on Saturday, in the preparatory meetings for the upcoming Arab summit, after Damascus regained its seat, after an absence that lasted for 12 years.
The Syrian media, security and diplomatic delegation arrived in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, to prepare for the visit of Syrian President Bashar al Assad to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The Syrian president is expected to arrive in Saudi Arabia before the Arab summit scheduled for May 19, and there will be a separate reception that will be arranged for the Arab leaders who will attend the Arab summit by Saudi officials.
It’s expected that the arrival of the Arab leaders participating in the Arab summit will begin next Thursday, and the Arab summit will be held on Friday.
