Syria: An explosion in Damascus… Nasrallah’s son-in-law was assassinated in an Israeli raid in Damascus
After a huge explosion rocked the Mazzeh neighborhood in the center of the Syrian capital, Damascus, on Wednesday morning.
According to sources from the Syrian Capital, Hassan Jaafar Qasir, the son-in-law of Hezbollah security General Hassan Nasrallah, was killed in the explosion, and the source reported that Nasrallah’s son-in-law was killed upon his arrival in Syria.
Qasir is the brother of Hezbollah leader Muhammad Jaafar Qasir, who was assassinated Tuesday in an airstrike. Israel said he was the commander of Hezbollah’s Unit 4400.
The Israeli army reported that the aforementioned unit is responsible for transferring combat equipment from Iran and its agents to Hezbollah, and added, “Muhammad Jaafar Qasir is one of the most prominent leaders of Hezbollah and one of the active parties in the Iran-Hezbollah-Syria axis, and he was close to Tehran.
Qasir also directed hundreds of operations to transfer strategic combat equipment to Hezbollah in Lebanon, where he supervised the development of Hezbollah’s precision missile project and the development of fire capabilities that were intended to target the home front and other targets in Israel.
According to the Syrian state television, Israel had bombed a residential building in Damascus, causing 3 deaths and 3 injuries.
This came just hours after Israeli airstrikes targeted the same neighborhood on Monday evening, killing 3 civilians, including a woman who works as reporter in the Syrian TV, and wounding 9 others.
