A senior member of the ruling Conservative Party, led by British Prime Minister Theresa May, will ask here to step down by June or face another attempt by lawmakers to oust her, the Sunday Times newspaper reported on Sunday.

According to the British newspaper, Graham Brady, chairman of the influential 1922 Committee, plans to inform Mrs. May that 70 percent of Conservative MPs want her to quit because of her handling of Britain’s exit from the EU.

Mrs. May survived a vote of confidence in her leadership last December, and under the Party’s rules, the confrontation can only be repeated again after another year.

However, there are rumors that conservatives can change the rules to allow another confrontation.

With widespread discontent within the party over Mrs. May’s handling of Britain’s exit from the European Union, originally scheduled for March 29 and then submitted to April 12 and now to October 31, Mrs. May failed.

To get the parliament’s approval of the British exit agreement from the European Union.

The prime minister has already offered to resign if parliamentarians support her agreement.
