Secretary of the Russian Security Council: Israel’s security depends on the security of Syria!

During his visit to Israel, Russian statesman. Director of the Federal Security Service of Russia, Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Nikolai Patrushev confirmed that Moscow attaches great importance to ensuring Israel’s security, but stressed that achieving this goal requires security in Syria.

Patrushev’s statement came during a joint press briefing with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday in Jerusalem, where the Russian official arrived to participate in the tripartite meeting with US National Security Advisor John Bolton and National Security Council Chairman Meir Ben Shabat.

The meeting, which is scheduled for today and tomorrow, will focus on the current developments in the Middle East, especially the Syrian file, he said, adding that steps will be taken to achieve peace in Syria, including reaching an internal political settlement and completing the elimination of the remnants of terrorists.

For his part, Netanyahu said that Israel will take all necessary measures to prevent what he called the presence of Iranian forces on the borders of the Hebrew state.

Netanyahu also thanked Russia for its efforts to return the remains of the Israeli soldier to his country.

During his stay in Israel, Patrushev will also hold bilateral meetings with his American and Israeli counterparts.
