The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is hosting a conference, Saturday, for national security advisors and representatives of about 30 countries regarding the Ukrainian crisis in the city of Jeddah to discuss ways to resolve the Ukrainian crisis through political means.

According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), “Hosting this meeting comes as a continuation of the humanitarian initiatives and efforts made in this context by the Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Prince Muhammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, and the contacts he made with the Russian and Ukrainian leaderships since the early days of the crisis”.

The Saudi government looks forward that this meeting will contribute to enhancing dialogue and cooperation through exchanging views, coordination and discussion at the international level on ways to resolve the Ukrainian crisis through diplomatic and political means, in a way that enhances international peace and security, and spares the world further humanitarian, security and economic repercussions of the crisis.

Prince Mohammed bin Salman had received Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, last May, on the sidelines of the Arab summit in Jeddah, stressing Riyadh’s keenness and support for all international efforts aimed at resolving the (Ukrainian-Russian) crisis politically, and continuing its efforts to contribute to mitigating the resulting humanitarian effects.
