The Turkish Baykar Defense Company announced the signing of the largest export deal in the field of defense and aviation in Türkiye’s history, with the Saudi Ministry of Defense, on the sidelines of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s visit to Saudi Arabia.

The general Manager of Baykar Defense Company, and the son-in law of President Erdoğan, Selçuk Bayraktar twitted, “We signed a cooperation agreement with the Ministry of Defense in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia regarding the “Akinci Tiha” offensive drones”.

Bayraktar continued by pointing out that the agreement is the largest export deal in the field of defense and aviation in the history of the Turkish Republic.

For his part, Saudi Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman wrote on Twitter, “With the empowerment and support of His Highness, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister – may God protect him ;Today, I was pleased to sign the executive plan for defense cooperation with His Excellency the Minister of National Defense of the Republic of Türkiye, Mr. Yaşar Güler, which comes as a culmination of the course of cooperation between the two friendly countries in the defense and military fields.

Prince Khalid bin Salman added, “Two acquisition contracts were also signed between the Ministry of Defense and the Turkish Baykar Defense Company, according to which the Ministry of Defense will acquire drones with the aim of raising the readiness of the armed forces, and strengthening the Kingdom’s defense and manufacturing capabilities.

The Turkish president, had arrived in Saudi Arabia, on Monday evening, where he met Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, and the two sides concluded a number of agreements in various fields.
