Russian military source: The Russian “S-550” system is capable of shooting down the American spacecraft “X-37” and destroying the nuclear warheads of intercontinental missiles
A source in the Russian military-industrial complex confirmed that the new Russian “S-550” anti-aircraft system is capable of shooting down the US military spacecraft “X-37”.
“The S-550 mobile strategic missile defense system specializes in destroying ballistic and orbital space targets, and primarily in destroying nuclear warheads of intercontinental missiles,” the source said.
The source revealed, “The typical targets of the system include the US unmanned space X-37 aircraft, as well as hypersonic units that are being developed in several countries”.
According to previous statements of two defense sources in the industrial complex, the new S-550 anti-aircraft system, developed on the basis of the S-500 “Promotie”, will become the world’s first mobile anti-missile and space defense system capable of effectively destroying ICBMs.
The Russian Defense Ministry announced earlier this month that Moscow is working on the creation of a new S-550 air defense missile system.
Russia is the most developed country in the world in the field of air defense in general and missile defense in particular, and the Russian S-400 missiles represent a source of terror for the US military, which is trying to possess attack planes that can evade them in vain.
Russia allows the export of its S-400 defense missile systems to several countries, including Turkey, whose acquisition of Russian S-400 missiles has caused a crisis with the United States, which rejects this deal, while the more advanced version of the S-500 has become a source of terror for the Americans.
