Retired Israeli General: The war against Lebanon is a mass suicide for Israel and Hezbollah will destroy Tel Aviv
Retired Major General Yitzhak Brik warned that Israel’s declaration of war on Lebanon would mean the mass suicide of Israel led by Netanyahu, Galant and Halevy, adding that “the consequences of the war against Lebanon will be more serious than what happened in the past”.
Brik told Israel’s Channel 13 that “what is happening in the Gaza Strip cannot be separated from what is happening in Lebanon, as the two fronts are connected to each other”.
“Hizballah is firing dozens of rockets and drones at Israel… In the end, we don’t succeed in stopping it, neither through the use of aircraft nor through Iron Dome,” he said.
Brik added that the Israeli authorities forget that there are more than 100,000 displaced Israelis in the north.
Earlier, Israeli Reserve Colonel Kobi Marom said Hezbollah “dictates the strength and scope of the escalation,” demanding that it reverse the matter and that the IDF take the lead in the north.
Brik said, “Let’s imagine that the Israeli army launched a war against Lebanon, and entered with three divisions to the Litani (southern Lebanon), at this moment things won’t remain as they are, but a comprehensive regional war will begin, adding that the Israeli army will face very difficult problems in the logistical matter, especially at a time when it can withstand there, and it also does not have forces to replace.
He also predicted that Hezbollah rockets will fall on communities in Tel Aviv, Gush Dan and Haifa and on infrastructure targets such as electricity and water, and all of them will be destroyed.
Brik called on the Israeli army to stop fighting in the Gaza Strip, saying that “every day that passes there is bad for Israel, is harmful to the army, the economy, society and relations with the world,” stressing that “won’t succeed in undermining Hamas in the Gaza Strip despite the war on it”.
On the same context, Israeli media confirmed that the demand for household generators in the north has risen significantly, after the CEO of Noga, the management of electricity systems in Israel, Shaul Goldstein, warned that “after 72 hours without electricity in the event of an expansion of the war, it’s impossible to live in Israel”.
