Retired Israeli General hits again: Our army has reduced into pieces in Gaza
Retired Israeli Major General Yitzhak Brick expressed that the Israeli army had failed in the Gaza Strip and had been reduced to shreds.
He warns in his article on Israeli Maariv newspaper, that the collapse of the ceasefire negotiations would lead Israel to the abyss.
His article came with a title “Chief of Staff has shattered the Israeli army into shreds”.
Brick wrote that the Israeli army failed to achieve the goal set by the political level, which is to destroy Hamas.
He added that due to improper behavior and the lack of operational discipline, many Israeli soldiers were killed and wounded during the fighting in the Gaza Strip.
He warned that if Israel doesn’t sign a deal to stop the fighting and exchange prisoners with Hamas, the situation may deteriorate, and we may end up at the bottom of the abyss.
The ceasefire negotiations have reached a critical stage due to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s insistence on continuing the war on Gaza and controlling the Netzarim and Philadelphi axes in the center and south of the Strip, while Hamas insists on ending the war and a complete withdrawal of the Israeli army.
Sarcastically, Brick blamed what he described them as “the three musketeers” Benjamin Netanyahu, Yoav Galant, and Herzi Halevi, who lost their way and were unable to lead us to safety.
He also held them responsible for the killing of more than a thousand people, the kidnapping of hundreds, the displacement of more than a hundred thousand people from their homes in the north and south of the country, and the entry into a war of attrition with Hamas and Hezbollah.
Brick continued, “And also their responsibility for the collapse of the country in the areas of the economy and international relations, and the increase in hatred among segments of the population, which could ignite the Middle East and lead to a regional war in multiple arenas”.
Brick emphasized that he spoke with soldiers and commanders fighting in the Gaza Strip, and they told him that they rarely fight face to face with Hamas, and the fact that Hamas fighters are waging a guerrilla war, as they don’t confront the Israeli solders on the ground, but rather they suddenly emerge from tunnels, fire anti-tank missiles at our tanks and armored personnel carriers, and plant traps and explosives in homes that the IDF sweeps out and then disappear back into the tunnels.
According to Brick, “They also told me, that ‘what the IDF spokesman Daniel Hagari and military correspondents in the media are saying about the difficult face-to-face battles with Hamas, and the deaths of dozens of the movement’s fighters, is completely false”.
Israeli officials have said on more than one occasion that the army is ‘paying a heavy price’ in Gaza, and is engaged in fierce and complex fighting with Palestinian faction fighters.
Brick went on to say, “I recently received horrific information from the director general of a major hospital (he didn’t mention the name) that it received dead and wounded from the IDF during the war”.
