Hamas’ military wing, al Qassam Brigades announced, on Wednesday, that they had killed 25 Israeli soldiers and wounded dozens of others, during the last 72 hours.

Qassam Brigades spokesman Abu Obaida said in a statement that their fighters confirmed the killing of 25 soldiers and the wounding of dozens of Israeli soldiers with varying injuries during the last 72 hours.

The statement explained that al Qassam fighters destroyed, completely or partially about 41 military vehicles.

He stated, “We targeted the invading Israeli forces with missiles and anti-fortified devices and anti-individual devices, and clashed with them within zero distance, while their rescue teams were targeted”.

He continued, “Two tunnels and a house were booby-trapped and blown up by the occupation Zionist soldiers, in addition to a sniper operation that targeted one of the soldiers”.

The statement stated that “al Qassam fighters bombed the headquarters, field command rooms, and military concentrations with mortar shells and short-range missiles on all fighting fronts in the Gaza Strip.”

He pointed out that a Salvo missile was launched towards Tel Aviv, and a barrage of missiles towards Kiryat Shmona in the north”.

On the other hand, Israeli media said, on Wednesday, that Israel is detaining about 300 Palestinians from Gaza “in harsh conditions” and accuses them of membership in the elite al Qassam Brigades.

Israeli Channel 12 said, “It’s estimated that 300 elite members of the Qassam Brigades are currently imprisoned in Israel,” adding, “Waiting for a decision on their case, as they are defined as the highest level of risk, so they are detained in harsh conditions; For example, they have no relationship with the outside world, not even lawyers”.

Israeli Channel 12 pointed out that “these Palestinians were arrested in the Israeli towns surrounding the Gaza Strip on October 7, on charges of participating in attacks on Israeli towns and military bases”.

The Israeli channel 12 revealed that the conditions of detention include “handcuffing all the time, in completely dark cells, with one person leaving the cell a day to shower”.

“There are no visits by Red Cross employees, and they receive 3 meals a day with the very minimum amount of basic food, and since the legal mechanism for their trial has not yet been determined, they aren’t allowed to meet with lawyers,” the Channel added, and continued, “and through the loudspeakers in the special wing where they are kept, Israeli patriotic songs are broadcast during most of the day,” explaining that “they are defined as illegal combatants”.

According to Channel 12, “Israel doesn’t currently intend to rush to bring charges against them, for fear of harming the kidnapped Israelis who remained captive by Hamas in the Gaza Strip; With the filing of indictments against them, the issue of the death penalty will return to the public agenda”.

“One of the legal decisions that will be taken regarding them is determining the identity of the court in which they should be tried: a local or military court? Or even a special court similar to the one in which the Nazi war criminal Adolf Eichmann was tried, and this hesitation is due to the fact that these are illegal combatants, and to the seriousness of the crimes charged against them”.

The Israeli channel 12 also reported that the prisoners “are imprisoned in one of the Israeli Prison Service’s facilities, and are completely separated from the rest of the Palestinian detainees”.
