Putin: We must do everything to protect the rights and security of the inhabitants of the territories of the new Russia
The Russian President Vladimir Putin said that it is important for Russia to do everything to “protect the constitutional rights of residents of new Russia’s territories and their security”.
Putin continues, “And, of course, it’s important that we support the difficult and complex work of joining the territories of the new Russia into a single legal space of the country”.
“We must do everything to protect the constitutional rights, the security of the people residing here”.
On September 23-27, 2022, referendums were held on entering the territories of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, Zaporizhia and Kherson regions.
According to the results of the referendum, the percentage of votes was 100% in the Donetsk People’s Republic, and 99.23% of those who voted agreed to join Russia.
In the Lugansk Republic, the percentage of favorable votes reached 98.42%, and in Kherson Province 87.05%.
In Zaporizhia, the favorable votes of joining Russia reached 93.11%.
On September 30, Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke in the Kremlin, following the results of referendums in the four regions, after which he signed agreements with their chiefs on accepting the regions’ accession to the Russian Federation.
