New York Times: The impact of F16 fighters on the course of hostilities in Ukraine will be limited

The New York Times reported that the West’s supply of F16 fighters to Ukraine won’t change the situation on the battlefield and its impact will be limited.

The New York Times reported that the shortage of trained pilots and the limited number of fighters will limit the impact on the course of combat operations in the near term.

“Russia has had plenty of time to build up its defense infrastructure, especially in front-line areas,” Hunter Stoll, a military expert at the Rand Corporation, told the New York Times.

“The F16s and their pilots will face stiff resistance from Russian air defenses both on the ground and in the sky,” he added.

Russian President Vladimir Putin recently warned that the Russian military will burn F16s in Ukraine and will consider hitting them at their bases in the countries from which they may launch, and that they will meet the same fate as German Leopard tanks, American Bradley armored vehicles and other Western weapons in Ukraine.

Western countries, through the material, military and political support they provide to Kiev, seek to obstruct the goals of the Russian special military operation in Ukraine.

However, Moscow has confirmed on more than one occasion that military operations in Donbas won’t stop until all tasks assigned to it are achieved.
