New massacres: 16 Palestinians killed and dozens injured in violent Israeli shelling of homes and schools in the Gaza Strip
Sixteen Palestinians were killed in sporadic Israeli shelling of the Gaza Strip since dawn on Wednesday, one of which targeted a school housing displaced persons northeast of Gaza City.
The most prominent of these raids targeted the Jaffa School, which houses displaced Palestinians northeast of Gaza City, and resulted in the deaths of 10 people, according to a Civil Defense statement.
Four Palestinians were also killed and others injured in Israeli shelling targeting the homes of al Jalis and al Sharbasi and other nearby homes, according to a Civil Defense statement.
Civil Defense confirmed the presence of a number of missing persons under the rubble of destroyed homes.
According to eyewitnesses, the Israeli army vehicles opened fire on the eastern areas of Gaza City, while artillery shelling continued east of the Zeitoun and al Shujaiya neighborhoods.
In Khan Yunis, a medical source said that a Palestinian was killed and five others were injured in an attack that targeted a tent housing displaced people in northwest of Gaza city.
A Palestinian was killed and six others were injured in the bombing of a tent near the Bank of Palestine in the town of Bani Suhaila, east of Khan Yunis, and five Palestinians were injured in an Israeli attack that targeted a third tent.
Meanwhile, the Israeli army continues to demolish residential homes, while simultaneously conducting artillery shelling and intense tank fire in the center and north of Rafah, in the southern Gaza Strip.
