On Saturday the Israeli special force freed 4 hostages from the central Gaza Strip infiltrated the Nuseirat camp via a truck used to transport humanitarian aid.

Earlier on Saturday, the Israeli army announced that it had managed to free four hostages in a special operation in the Nuseirat camp, while the Israeli police announced that an officer from its Yamam special unit died of his injuries during the operation.

This coincided with the death of 210 Palestinians and the injury of more than 400, Saturday, in a massacre committed by Israeli forces after heavy artillery and air bombardment targeted the Nuseirat camp.

The Israeli special force used a closed transport truck and a civilian vehicle in the process of infiltrating the Nuseirat camp, in order to retrieve the prisoners.

Earlier Saturday, the IDF said in a statement on X, “In a complex operation by the army, the Shin Bet and the police (special police unit), four Israeli abductees were freed today… The four detainees were Noa Argamani (25), Elmaa Meir (21), Andrei Kozlov (27) and Shlomi Ziv (40)”.

“These transport vehicles are widespread in the Gaza Strip and are usually used to transport goods and furniture, but they have become widely used during the Israeli war in the transport of humanitarian aid”.

A US official told CNN that US forces participated in the bloody Israeli army attack on the Nuseirat camp to recover 4 Israeli prisoners, leaving hundreds of martyrs and wounded.

Commenting on the operation, the al Qassam Brigades, Hamas’s military wing, said that the Israeli army managed to free some of its prisoners through horrific massacres, but at the same time killed some of them during the operation”.

US and Israeli officials said the United States provided intelligence on the four hostages prior to Israel’s recapture from Nuseirat in the central Gaza Strip.

According to the New York Times, a US official said that a team of officials responsible for freeing American hostages stationed in Israel helped the Israeli military in efforts to rescue the four prisoners by providing intelligence and other logistical support.

Intelligence gathering and analysis teams from the United States and Britain were present in Israel throughout the war, to help Israeli intelligence collect and analyze information related to the hostages, some of whom are citizens of both countries, a senior Israeli defense official familiar with efforts to locate and retrieve the hostages told the New York Times.

Two Israeli intelligence officials said US military officials in Israel provided some intelligence about the hostages rescued on Saturday.

According to the New York Times, “The Pentagon and the CIA have provided information collected from drone flights over Gaza, intercepting communications and other sources about the possible location of the hostages”.

While Israel has its own intelligence, the United States and Britain have been able to provide intelligence from the air and cyberspace that Israel cannot collect on its own.
