The NBC reported that the head of Hamas movement in the Gaza Strip, Yahya Sinwar, remains constantly one step ahead of Israeli intelligence, which hasn’t succeeded in reaching him for 4 months.

NBC quoted Israeli security and military sources as saying, “Sinwar constantly changes his place and is believed to be in the tunnels, and after the widespread attack on Khan Yunis, it is most likely that he moves between the tunnels to other areas, and the possibility of him escaping to Egypt through them isn’t excluded”.

According to NBC, Israeli estimates indicate that Yahya Sinwar was present in the large tunnel that was recently discovered in Khan Yunis, and it was believed that 20 Israeli kidnappers were inside it… He is present in the place alongside some leaders of Hamas and Qassam Brigade who remain near the places where the Israeli kidnappers are held, keeping them alive”.

NBC quoted multiple sources as saying, that Sinwar aims to achieve three goals, the first of which is to remain alive, and to continue the work of Hamas movement and its survival in the future in any government, and therefore he won’t accept any conditions related to his removal.

Jonathan Conricus, a lieutenant colonel in the Israeli reserve forces and a former spokesman for the Israeli army, said, “It’s a fair assumption that Sinwar and the Hamas leadership were close to where these hostages were held and then they all moved to another place… I believe that his proximity to the hostages saved his life more than once”.
