NATO delivers equipment to Kabul police to help bring security and stem the spread of Coronavirus
The resolute support mission led by the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) has delivered equipment to the Kabul police, in an effort to help achieve security and stem the spread of the new Corona virus, according to the Afghan news agency Khama Press on Sunday.
“Our support for the Afghan National Security Forces during the Covid-19 disease outbreak continues,” the mission stated in a Twitter post. Kabul police have obtained 18,000 surgical masks, 18,000 gloves, 18,000 disinfectants, sterilizers, protective equipment and infrared thermometers to help in their efforts to achieve security and stop the spread of the Coronavirus in the largest city in Afghanistan.
“These supplies are being distributed to 16,000 policemen who are protecting the city’s residents, and the resolute NATO support mission stands by our Afghan partners,” the mission added.
The confirmed cases of the Coronavirus in Afghanistan rose to 1531 today, Sunday, despite the small number of samples, which the government is testing, according to the Afghan television channel.
Information, reported by the Ministry of Public Health to the media, indicated that 242 samples from 15 provinces had been tested in the past 24 hours and 68 were positive.
Three deaths were recorded in the past 24 hours – two in Ghazni and one in Herat, according to the ministry.
The number of people recovering in the country reached 207.
