Musk confirms that Ukraine will be able to continue using Starlink and responding harshly on the Polish foreign minister

US President Donald Trump’s special adviser Elon Musk promised Sunday to allow Ukraine to continue using the Starlink network, which is vital for its military communications, after heated exchanges with Polish foreign minister Radoslaw Sikorski on the matter.
“To be very clear, despite my disagreements with Ukraine policy, Starlink will never shut down its service,” Musk wrote on X.
“I just want to say that without Starlink, Ukrainian networks will collapse because the Russians can jam all other communication channels! But we will never do that and we will never use it as a negotiating tool,” he added.
Musk confirmed that the Starlink system forms the backbone of the Ukrainian army, pointing out that stopping the service would lead to the collapse of all frontlines, saying, “Starlink is the backbone of the Ukrainian military… Their entire frontline collapses if you turn it off”.
Musk reiterated his position on the Ukrainian war, considering that Kyiv will inevitably lose in its confrontation with Russia, calling on it to abandon the war.
From his part, the Polish foreign minister Radoslaw Sikorski, wrote on X, “The Polish Ministry of Digitalization is the one paying for Starlink satellites for Ukraine, for $50 million a year”.
Later, Musk replied to his post by saying, “You’re paying a fraction of the total cost… There’s no alternative to Starlink”.
Musk, described the Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski as a “little man” in response to his criticism of the possibility of shutting down the Starlink satellite internet service provided by SpaceX to the Ukrainian military.
For his part, Sikorski responded to Musk’s statements, recalling that Poland pays about $50 million annually to provide Starlink service to Ukraine.
The Polish minister indicated that Warsaw may resort to looking for alternatives if SpaceX proves to be an unreliable supplier.
