Medvedev slams EU summit in Brussels as a summit of thieves!
The former Russian president and current deputy head of Russia’s Security Council, Dmitry Medvedev, harshly criticized the recent EU summit in Brussels, calling it a “summit of thieves” in a post on Telegram.
Medvedev pointed out that the summit witnessed decisions that he described as in favor of the criminal world, referring to what he called the “Brussels rehearsal” announced by European officials, and confirmed that the participants at the summit feared “armed robberies” of Russian assets held by Euroclear.
He added that there are differences between Europeans and Americans on this issue, as the American position against direct confiscation overshadowed the desire of some European leaders to take unilateral steps, stressing that the influence of American legal experts outweighed the desire of some European countries to carry out what he described as major thefts.
Medvedev also pointed out that the “thieves of Brussels” haven’t abandoned their plans for further operations on Russian assets, citing statements by Ursula von der Leyen, and added that some representatives of European countries have refused to contribute to the European Fund for Support of Ukraine, despite attempts by figures such as Friedrich Merz and Emmanuel Macron to impose their decisions.
Medvedev concluded that the summit revealed clear power struggles within the EU between European leaders and American experts, in what he described as a balance of power within the European criminal world.
