Malaysian Prime Minister offers assistance in rebuilding Syria and invites the Syrian President to visit
Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim announced during a phone call with Syrian President transitional Ahmad al Sharaa that his country is willing to encourage Malaysian companies to participate in Syria’s reconstruction efforts.
Ibrahim emphasized that the Malaysian government seeks to boost investments in the Syrian market, with a focus on vital sectors such as energy, agriculture, education, and technology, noting his country’s desire to support Syria’s recovery and development process.
The Malaysian Prime Minister also expressed his interest in strengthening economic relations between the two countries and expanding cooperation between the private sectors in Malaysia and Syria, while emphasizing the importance of strengthening cultural and scientific ties, given their role in deepening mutual understanding.
During the call, Ibrahim extended an official invitation to President al Sharaa to visit Malaysia at the earliest possible opportunity, with the aim of opening new horizons for bilateral cooperation and affirming the deep friendship between the two peoples.
For his part, Syrian President Ahmad al Shara expressed his deep appreciation for Malaysia’s supportive stance and the congratulations of its prime minister, emphasizing the importance of developing the economic and development partnership between the two countries, within a Syrian vision open to cooperation with Asian and international countries, to build a more stable and prosperous future.
